Cutting out sugar is simple but hard to do: For years I rationalized to myself that sugar wasn't all that bad. It was just a source of calories. If I cut calories in other areas, I could continue eating the sweets that I really loved.
Then I watched a video that made it all clear to me. Fructose is the villain. There's an old saying, "The dose makes the poison". Your liver can only handle small amounts of fructose. The excess is converted to visceral fat. And visceral fat produces chemicals that cause inflammation and interfere with your hunger regulation. Until you control your fructose consumption, you'll be fighting an uphill battle that you can't win.
I was a sugar addict. I went cold turkey and broke the addiction in two weeks. After that the weight just kept coming off with hardly any effort. Five pounds per month doesn't seem like much but slow and steady wins the race. It's also about making sustainable changes to your eating habits. If you don't change and sustain new habits, you'll be right back where you started from.
Three videos made a huge difference in my thinking. A few tools also helped. A free nutrition tracking app allowed me to set up an eating plan that kept me on track. My list of fruits sorted by amounts of fructose allowed me to make smart decisions. And a good body composition scale kept me accountable.
I want you to get the results that I did. I will share with you exactly what helped me lose 30 pounds in 5 months.
But I got tired of answering that question over and over. It was easier to point people to a website. I found something that worked for me and am happy to share it with as many people as possible. If I help a few people lose some weight and improve their lives, I'll have lived a good life. Also, if you click on some of the product links that I provide, I'll get a small affiliate commission. If I get $1 in affiliate commissions from 1 million readers, I can retire and feel like I did some good in this world. It's as simple as that.
